According to reports, Amazon joined forces with Booking, Tripadvisor and other websites to announce the formation of the first global trusted commentary alliance. This cross-industry cooperation aims to protect customers all over the world from obtaining trustworthy opinions. Members will jointly establish and provide the best way of online comments and share the methods of detecting and cracking down on false comments.
Last October, at a meeting in San Francisco, USA, this alliance began to be established, and a formal association was established, which will work together and share information among its members to curb abuse of censorship. The members of the alliance will hold the second meeting of false comments in Brussels on December 5-6, which is organized by Amazon. The alliance has reached an agreement to cooperate in several key areas to protect consumers and partners from false comments and ensure that the public is not misled by the abuse of content.
These areas include:
1, industry coordination, they will develop the definition of false comments, content review terms and indicators and general standards for the entire business community.
2. Exchange experiences, establish the best way to provide online comments, and share information about the new content review process and the methods of detecting false comments.
3, information sharing, sharing information about how abusive suppliers operate, such as when they sell false comments to companies that want to improve their reputation in an unfair and improper way.
4. Advocating, cooperating with academia and policy makers, emphasizing the usefulness of comments to consumers, and supporting various industries in their efforts to prevent the publication of false comments.
Dharmesh Mehta, global vice president of Amazon Seller Service, said: “Customer reviews are an important part of the shopping experience, and the goal of the alliance is to ensure that every review reflects the real customer experience. Amazon is cracking down on companies and individuals that provide false comments to protect our customers and business partners. But these false comment providers are a global problem that affects many industries. ”
False comments on Amazon are a problem that the company has been facing for many years. In fact, in 2022, Amazon took legal action against more than 90 violators around the world. One of the complaints was directed at a fake review website called Agencia Reviews, which was closed one week after the complaint. In addition to the website, Amazon sued more than 10,000 administrators of groups created on Facebook last year. In 2023, Amazon will continue to achieve the goal of eliminating false comments.
